General Conditions
- For bank transfers, it is necessary to send an e mail ([email protected]) with the receipt of payment indicating the participant’s name.
- Once the payment has been processed prior to the start of the course, the rest of the fees must be paid at least 2 weeks before the course starts.
- Travel Cheques are not accepted as a valid means of payment.
- The participant is responsible for paying all bank charges.
- In the event that it was not possible to complete a course due to the health crisis caused by Covid 19, the student will have a period of one year, to be counted from the date of interruption of the course, in order to contact us so as to request an extension of the course. Once that deadline has passed it will not be possible to continue the course.
- All requests for vouchers or other compensation must also be made within a period of 12 months from the original date of the course.

The application will only be accepted following a minimum non-refundable prepayment of €150, of which will be deducted from the total fee. We accept the following payment methods:

In case of having credit for the completion of a course, it will not be transferrable.
The registration fee for groups will be a 30% of the total, to be paid the day of enrollment, and the remaining 70% two months before the beginning of the course. For acceptance of this quote, the proof of payment has to be sent to our email: [email protected].
Participants will receive all the necessary arrival information once they have received the course confirmation and paid the 150 € deposit.
For those who need a travel visa in order to attend the course, MaestroMío will be able to provide them with a confirmation letter. If you require this service please ensure that you have:
- Sent the enrollment form.
- Sent an e mail with a copy of the participant’s current passport.
- Paid the accommodation and course fees in full.
For minors, we also require you to send the signed Parental Authorization Form and a photocopy of the passport of the parent or guardian whose signature appears on the authorization.
Should the application for a travel visa be refused, the school will need a copy of the official letter of refusal for any refund to be made (see Cancellation Conditions).
The registration fee may be higher than the standard fee for students applying for a visa. Also, in case of refusal, the amount of the administration expenses may be withheld (see Cancellation Conditions).
- Extra Nights: The week’s stay begins on the Sunday before the start of the course, and ends on the following Saturday. If participants arrive before or leave after these days, they will have to check this with the school beforehand and, if it is available, will have to play for the extra stay.
- Accompanying persons: It is possible for participants to bring people who do not wish to take part in one of our courses. They will have to pay for their chosen accommodation plus €45 per week, which will allow them to participate in all our activities that come at no extra cost, and the ability to use other services, e.g. internet access.
- Transfer or “Pick –up” Service for Individual Stays: MaestroMío can arrange for you to be met at the airport and driven directly to your chosen accommodation. This service is carried out by professionals and the price will depend on the choice of arrival/departure airport.
- Each lesson lasts 55 minutes.
- Classes will be carried out entirely in Spanish from the first day. Teaching staff are all native Spanish speakers.
- The maximum number of participants per class will normally be 12.
- The classes will be timetabled either in the morning or in the afternoon / evening, from Monday to Friday, except Bank Holidays. There are no classes on Bank Holidays, and no replacement classes are offered (except for individual courses and Group Stays), nor is a refund given.
- Bank holidays: The bank holidays listed in the Spanish Working Calendar are: 1st January, 6th January, 28th February, Maundy or Holy Thursday and Good Friday (Easter), 1st May, 15th August, 12th October, 1st November, 6th December, 8th December, 25th December, along two local holidays .
Please note that Spanish Working Law states that holidays falling on Sundays will be celebrated on the following Monday.
When two Bank Holidays fall in the same week, only one will be taken.
TEACHING MATERIAL
The school provides the participants with all the necessary teaching material for the course: books, complementary material, but not dictionaries. For the teaching material, individual participant has to pay approximately 25€ for the grammar book. For groups the teaching material is included in the price of the course.
MINIMUM ATTENDANCE
Upon registering with MaestroMío students agree to attend a minimum of 70% of the course. In the event that students fail to do so they may not be awarded a certificate at the conclusion of the course.
PUNCTUALITY REQUIREMENT
Students are required to arrive punctually to their classes. If a student arrives more than 15 minutes after the start time of the class that student will be denied entry to the class and will lose that lesson.
LEAVING EARLY
The minimum stay for the course (except for individual lessons) and for the place of accommodation is 1 week. The later arrival or earlier departure according to the dates confirmed by the school does not imply any discount or refund on the price of the stay.
The week begins on the Sunday before the start of the course, and ends on the following Saturday. Any arrival before or departure after, as previously listed, must be made clear to the school and the extra nights must be paid for. (Prices depend on the type of accommodation).
The check-in will be between 4 and 11 p.m. If for any reason, the student cannot arrive at the accommodation before 11 pm., they will have to plan their own accommodation for that night.
The check-out will be at 11 a.m. There is the possibility of allowing a later departure time. Additional amounts may apply, please ask about any such charge.
All the relevant information regarding accommodation will be sent to the participant prior to the arrival date. We will only send the email only after having received the entire payment for the accommodation.
MaestroMío reserves the right to impose a deposit of €150 to access the accommodation, which will be paid prior to arrival, and will be returned in the same payment method within a maximum period of 15 days after departure, once the accommodation has been inspected. The amount to be returned may be reduced depending on the damage caused or in the event of non-delivery of the key.
MaestroMío reserves the right to change student accommodations at any time.
Host family accommodation is normally up to 30 minutes maximum walking distance from the school. It is a unsupervised journey.
- Towels provided and linen changed weekly.
- Laundry: Once a week , the student can do it itself or ask the host mother for it.
- The student is not allowed to use the house phone without permission.
- The student must keep the room tidy and clean
- The student will not bring visitors at home without permission of the family. The family will decide if it is possible or not and this will not cause any extra cost/service for the family
- Damages: The student is responsible for the damages produced in the accommodation, and must bear the cost of the repairs. In the case of shared apartments, if there is no one directly responsible, the cost of the repair will be shared among all the students.
- Loss of keys: The student is responsible for the key. In case the key get lost, the student will be responsible for the expenses that this situation may cost.
Cancellations must be made in writing to [email protected] to be effective. Our Cancellation Conditions are as follows:
- For cancellations made more than 15 days before the course starts, the 150 € deposit will be charged.
- For cancellations made 15 days or less before the course starts, 100% of the total amount will be charged.
- Cancellations made on or after the starting date or the course, 100% of the total amount will be charged.
- In the event that a student's visa or other condition of travel is refused MaestroMío will reimburse the full payment, up to 250€ for administrative costs. In no case will any amount be refunded once the visa has been granted. Under no circumstances will we refund any monies once the letter of invitation has been sent save in the case of denial of visa mentioned above.
- Under no conditions will money for the course or accommodation be refunded once the student has started the course.
Our group classes consist of a minimum number of 3 students. In the event that on the first day of the course there are not 3 students, MaestroMío will offer the student a reduced quantity of hours of private classes (max. 2 pers.). Those private classes will not come at an extra cost, although they are more valuable than the group classes. The student will be informed on the first day of class.
In the event of cancellations of private classes one to one, the student agrees to inform the school at least 24 hours in advance. In case of a cancellation for a class directly after a weekend or a holiday period, the student must notify the school by the previous school day. If the student informs MaestroMío on time, he is entitled to recover the class within the booked period. If not, the student will lose the possibility of recovering the class.
In the event of cancellation by the school, the following applies:
- If the cancellation is due to force majeure, the student will be offered the possibility of taking the course within one year.
- If the cancellation is due to another reason attributable to the school, the student will be refunded the full course fee.
ACCOMMODATION CANCELLATION
- For cancellations made more than 30 days before the course starts, the total amount will be refunded.
- For cancellations made 30 days, or less, before the start of the accommodation period, 30 days of accommodation will be charged.
- Once a period of accommodation has begun no refund will be possible save in the case of force majeure.
- In the event that a student's visa or other condition of travel is refused MaestroMío will reimburse the full payment, up to 250€ for administrative costs. In no case will any amount be refunded once the visa has been granted. We will not refund any monies once the letter of invitation has been sent save in the case of denial of visa mentioned above.
- If a student decides to postpone or take a temporary break from any of the programs, the accommodation cannot be cancelled under any circumstances.
CHANGE OF COURSE AND/OR ACCOMMODATION
- BEFORE THE STARTING DATE OF THE COURSE AND/OR ACCOMMODATION: If after confirming your stay with us, you wish to make any changes to the type of course, accommodation or dates, you will need to inform us by email at least 2 weeks prior to the course start date, or during our busier months (between June and September inclusive) one month before, in order to secure any changes made.

DURING THE STAY: If, for any justifiable reason you are unable to carry out your stay with us in full, you must provide proof where possible. In which case, you will be given the option of postponing your course (for a minimum of 1 week and a maximum of 12 months) without losing any of your money (unless there are any changes to our course price, of which you will have to pay the difference.) However unfortunately we cannot offer a refund on accommodation fees.If during the stay a student wants to change the accommodation, the student shall notify the school as soon as possible. We will make reasonable efforts to make the requested change. Any such change will depend on the availability of other suitable accommodation.
If during their stay the student wants to change the assigned accommodation for another, or cancel it, they will have to notify the school with 30 days notice, and the amount of those 30 days will not be returned in any case.
Any change to a confirmed reservation, before or after the starting date of the course and/or accommodation, will incur a cost of €75 for administrative expenses, and will always be subject to availability at the school.
Changes in the course and/or accommodation dates will not be allowed in the case of students who have been granted a visa.
EXTENSION OF STAY
If participants wish to extend the length of their course or attend a different one, it will only be possible if there are spaces available. The same conditions apply to accommodation. For this reason it is important that the school receives this information at least 1 week before the end of the first course.
COMPLEMENTARY COURSES
We will provide the participants with all necessary information regarding any complementary courses such as guitar, windsurfing, flamenco, scuba diving, etc. which they may wish to participate in. We will also act as intermediary if required. But WE WILL NOT assume any responsibility for these courses, as these activities are not based in our school.
HEALTH AND TRAVEL INSURANCE
We recommend travel and medical insurance for the duration of your stay regardless of your course length or course/visa type. You are responsible for the belongings which you bring with you to MaestroMío school accommodation and for taking out insurance for your own possessions.
MaestroMío, its representatives, partners, and staff are not liable for any loss, damage, illness, or injury to persons or property however caused, except where such liability is imposed by statute. It is the student´s responsibility to take out personal insurance against all risks, including ability to attend or continue a course and insurance for the payment of medical expenses.
Those who come from the European Union can make use of the European Health Insurance Card, formerly called the E111. Before you travel, shall consult the authorities in your country about what medical treatments will be covered in the destination country.
BEHAVIOR AND CONDUCT RULES
If any of our participants are found to be bad mannered or misbehaving, are disrespectful to their classmates or teachers, break any of the school rules in class and/or accommodation, the school will impose a verbal and written sanction. If the participants’ behavior fails to improve following this action, the school will be forced to start the expulsion procedure if deemed necessary. We always follow Spanish legislation.
In the event of the breaking of any form of local, national or international law during the participants stay at the school, we will take all the necessary steps according to the level of seriousness of the behavior
The expulsion of any participant implies the loss of any right to receive any kind of refund.
Any expenses incurred by the participant’s behavior (damage compensations, fines…) will be paid by the participant and, in case of underage participants, by their parents or legal guardians.
COMPLAINTS
The school will enforce all the necessary procedures to resolve any issues that may occur during the participants stay with us, as soon as possible. Any complaints must be made in writing. Subsequently, the school has the obligation to reply under the same conditions.
In the event of being unable to reach a complete agreement between the 2 parties the school and the participant:
- The problem will be submitted to the authority of la Junta de Arbitraje de Consumo del Ayuntamiento (The Department of Consumer Arbitration of the Provincial Government)
- MaestroMío also has at your disposal if they should be required, in the secretary’s office:
- AEEA (Association of Andalusian Spanish schools) complaint forms which will be sent to an official Student defense lawyer.
- The Official Complaint Forms of Junta De Andalusia (Andalusian provincial Government) which, in accordance with Spanish law, must be at the clients’ disposal in every establishment.
We will not accept any claim and/or complaint forms made after the students departure that was not communicated in writing to the school during the participant’s stay, as we must be given the opportunity to attempt to resolve the problem in time.
PUBLICITY/ADVERTISEMENT
The school is not responsible for any advertisement made by others concerning the school.
The motion of enrolling and attending a course implies the acceptance of all information and conditions enlisted on these pages.
MaestroMío reserves the right to change or modify anything expressed in these pages whenever there is a justified reason for doing so.
