MaestroMío in Madrid
Our center is located at 11 Carrera de San Francisco, in the charming La Latina neighborhood, right in the historic heart of Madrid.
La Latina is one of the oldest and most iconic neighborhoods in Madrid. Some of its names (Puerta de Moros, Plaza de la Cebada, Calle de la Morería, La Latina itself) transport us to a time when this area was the true heart of the city’s life. This medieval neighborhood is known for its narrow and winding streets that hide surprises in the form of tiny palaces, small squares, and even secret gardens.
The neighborhood is named after Doña Beatriz Galindo, a humanist and protector of the Catholic Monarchs’ family. She was called “La Latina” because of her role as a teacher and her knowledge of Latin.

In addition, Madrid is a very welcoming place, where you can make new friends, interact with native speakers and improve your fluency quickly.
How much time per day does it take to learn a language?
The time needed to learn a language depends on several factors, such as your goal, the level of Spanish you start with and the learning methodology you follow. At our Spanish language school in Madrid, we recommend that you dedicate at least 1-2 hours a day to active language practice. This includes attending classes, studying vocabulary, doing exercises and practising grammar. However, for more effective learning, it is important that you combine classes with activities outside the classroom, such as watching Spanish films, reading books or interacting with Spanish speakers. The key is consistency and continuous exposure to the language. The more you practice and surround yourself with Spanish, the faster you will advance in your learning. In addition, the time spent in cultural and social immersion in Madrid will allow you to improve your listening comprehension and fluency quickly.
How long does it take to become fluent in a language?
The time it takes to become fluent in a language depends on the frequency of study, the methodology employed and the amount of exposure to the language in everyday situations. In general, students who follow an intensive plan at our Spanish language school in Madrid can begin to notice significant improvements in just 3 to 6 months. However, to achieve complete fluency, where you can communicate with confidence in any situation, a longer commitment is usually required. If you dedicate yourself to studying Spanish consistently and participate in cultural activities that allow you to interact with native speakers, you can achieve functional fluency in 1 year. For full fluency, you may need 1 to 2 years, depending on your dedication and the amount of time you spend practising outside the classroom.
Can I become proficient in a language in one year?
Yes, it is entirely possible to reach an advanced level of proficiency in Spanish in one year, as long as you follow an intensive approach and surround yourself with opportunities to practice. At our Spanish language school in Madrid, we offer programs which are designed to help you reach an advanced level in one year. This involves not only attending daily classes, but also actively participating in the social and cultural life of Madrid. By immersing yourself in the language on a consistent basis, interacting with native speakers, watching Spanish language media, travelling around Spain and participating in cultural activities, it is quite possible for you to reach a high level of proficiency in as little as 12 months. The key to mastering a language in this time is complete immersion: the more you use Spanish in real-life situations, the faster you will achieve fluency and comprehension.
